Nostalgia..

DPS Bhilai, class of 1999

This one goes out for innocence lost, a time when the solution to the questions, the latest in Raj comics, were more important to us than the size of breasts of the females around us. Undoubtedly I enjoyed a lot during my stay here at IIT, but still school friends are a part of my memory which I still remember fondly. I remember all those pretty girls whom we used to hate, the annual day we organised, of the times when couple of us were together from morning 4:00 am to evening 8:00 as a result of School and tutions clubbed together.

In the above pic, you can see (from right), Pranjal Chatterjee (who is doing CA), Vikas Chandra Sahu (who has become more extrovert and turned into Vicky Dada after joining BIT), Gautam "gautai dada" Gupta (did Civil from MNR, and now placed in ... I forgot), Deepayan Chakraborty (standing, he was with me here at IIT and is now at UCSD), Atul Sharma (my classmate since Class 1, joined GSITS in Indore and I think is looking for Jobs), Me, the Handsome Himanshu Bhalla (the most ambitious man I know, he joined BHU ceramics, changed branch to Comp. Sci., did PT in Singapore, topped the class, joined Tata Elexsi and shifted to Reliance Infocomm., this fellow is going ahead at a fast pace and is not stopping at all), Shashwat Lakhanpal (sportsperson, a friend whom I miss here at IIT most, joined REC, and now placed in Infosys) and Vishwajeet Singh Gupta (current whereabouts - unknown). The pic was taken on our last annual picnic at some DAM, near Bhilai.. there is soo much I am forgetting about my past these days.

I miss U guys!

Minnie Mouse

Thakkar - Dipti

Well, Dipti, persistance finally paid off.. While you were bugging everyday for putting up the snap, I also had to find something which will show your true self. Whenever I see dipti, she reminds me of a Bugs Bunny trapped in a Minnie Mouse body! Imagine that, and you get Dipti. For the sake of convenience, I have put up this pic which was taken about the same time as the one below, that is, Holi this year. She did her Graduation from JJ and after IDC, whether I say it or not, She *IS* going to rock the world. So better watch out...

The Axe Effect.

Gautam Karnik Axe Effect

Gautam Karnik, the skinny little guy in middle, is again a senior IDCian and is your Ideal Dr. Jekyll. By day, or on most days, Gautam is your simple kind hearted helping fellow, the saint, who will come, work with determination and go back! But then, the Mr. Hyde part takes over and he'll flirt with any dame around, while walking back he'll ask about the female who just crossed by ;) and his remark on H11 valfi was "Wow, I never knew there were these many of them around!"

Also known for his GJ's (Gautam Jokes), he recently joined the 30's club two weeks ago. The above snap, taken at Holi this year, shows Gautam in his full glory where everyone posed for this AXE effect snap taken. Every guy does gets his lucky day!

At 30, I wish him more such days before he gets married, or before his parents see this picture :D

PS. Deepti, you are up next, this time I promise... check this place tommorow!

A cute couple...

Thakkar - Kiran and Sindhu

There are many people I like in life and two of them are Kiran Kulkarni and Sindhu Narayan, both presently final year IDCians. Both are very simple people, deep discussions with them bring me back to loving simple things in life everytime, and what things represent in essence. In fact, i think that if their job doesnt require it, they will never miss a net connected computer ever in life.

If I remember correctly, both of them are from banglore and were good friends before coming here (possibly in college and/or school). In many ways they are alike, like the way they smile, like the look on sindhu' face when she looks at a good design and the look on kiran's face when he looks at some Corbusier's architecture and I for one, consider them a couple. What lies in future, only time will tell.. (Kiran, sind - sorry if I overwrote, I am just voicing my opinion ;) )

This pic was taken at H12 (kiran's) valfi! This one goes for long lasting friendships!
May they live happily everafter...

The Thakkar Family (Nuclear)

Aniket Thakkar, my Brother

Abhishek Thakkar - Micky
"With great power comes great responsibility"

Yes, that is in fact, True! With the great option of being an "Elder" at so small an age, an option of not being the youngest in the family, of not being called "chhotu" even though your physical growth rate is phenomenol as compared to other kids, comes the biggest responsibility of all, to put up a path for younger to compete, to always see him getting things 4 years sooner than you. You have to be at your best at all times while he gets that extra attention. The younger also gets the first saying in all matters, whether or not the opinion is taken into consideration or not. He also gets to escape easily from all pranks, and is attended to first if both of u are whining for some reason.

I do think its the best to be either the oldest or youngest in the family, and I think my little kid bro knows it too. He has tried his best to be not-me. Presently studying in YCCE Nagpur, he plays regular games instead of computer ones, he has a different dram style and he also came runner up in Mr. Mood Indigo 2004, just like that. He constantly reminds me of the fact that "I'm right behind you!", and is becoming more and more impish by the day. This one goes out for you, little brother, and all the wonder years!

Missing you.

Wicked Games

I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you.
I never dreamed that I'd love somebody like you.

What a wicked game to play, to make me feel this way.
What a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you.

Thakkar - Anupama

The above lines by Chris Isaack just about put my feelings on paper(or screen whatever!). Who needs an Aishwarya Rai to get a crush on, when you have good friends. This one is for "The other self!, the heart of my heart, the light of my eyes, forever.. (so I ranted another line from some novel I read, but I do mean it, honestly!! I have a crush on her, and for now, its like its forever!!)

Okay! I know all of you are going to ask that "hows it going?" and "does she like you?" and "have you told her?" and what not! Puhleeeese junta, grow up! This isnt like she posed for the pic to be taken specially, its her natural radient self which comes out in every snap! And no, you cant have any more of them, unless I choose to post them of course. The photo was taken in Hostel 12, at their valfi (of course I had to crop off some people to isolate this pic). The dame's name is Anupama Kamath, fondly called Joinx, and she's ONE of the (few) people I admire.

Men and Giants

Thakkar - men and giants

A classic comparative snap, this one was taken at Alibagh Beach, which I visited with IDC seniors while attending the elective HCI-2. Opposite to me is Shalaka's Kid Mayank. Shalaka is always complaining that I post all babe snaps and never her's, so here it is! Well, this doesnt actually qualifies as a snap of Mayank, so I'll post one up soon! Therefore, this one goes out to a 6'4" height and 130 kgs of weight, in other words, me!

Zor se bolo Bajrang Bali ki ... Jai!!!
